Community Information Fair

We had a successful and enjoyable day at The Community Information Fair in Smithford Way. This was part of Coventry’s annual Positive Images Festival. Not only were we able to talk about our aims in CAIF but we saw other community groups and the valuable work they do. We thank Colin Scott and Mehru Fitter for this opportunity and their organisation of the day.

Global Care Concert

A letter was received thanking Pat and the Nightingales Choir for their donation of £305.50 in support of Syrian refugees. Global Care fund their partners in Lebanon, the “Out of the Wilderness Agency” to run a “Shack School” to educate 100 refugee children aged 6-9. They are determined that these children will not become a ‘lost generation’

Peace Concert 2016

Another successful concert took place on Sunday November 13 in The Hub at Coventry University. Performers included The Nightingales directed by Pat with Sensa Nome directed by Joanna Kunda; soloists Hayley, Laura and with Irish magic Carmel. There were African and Irish dancers too!

Thanks to the technical team at The Hub and to all of Pat’s friends and helpers.  Above all thanks to Pat for her commitment and energy which makes these concerts possible.

2 men 2 Bikes 16 Cities

28 June 2014

CAIF members attended an inspirational talk by Phil Baylis, at the Central Library, on Friday 27 June. Phil and his son, also Phil, went on a fundraising trip to 16 of Coventry’s twin cities in Europe. They went by motorbike and were accompanied by a support team in a van.

Everywhere they went they were greeted (as we are) with friendliness and warm hospitality. They were raising funds for Myton Hospice. To date they have raised £26.000. In 2015 Phil will undertake another challenge to raise money for Zoe’s Place.

We wish him and his team well.
