In the events page we highlighted that a theatre group (the TUDORS) from Dresden were visiting Coventy. Here Marc from the group summarises what they got up to on this their third visit.
The TUDORS (Technische Universität Dresden Off their Rockers Shakespeareans) were back in Coventry with a third play after performing ‘Last Stop: Clausnitz’ in October 2022 and ‘Train of Life’ in February 2020.
This time, The TUDORS were presenting a powerful tragedy written by Winter Miller entitled ‘In Darfur’. Despite the summer holidays, approximately 40 people attended the performance, including the Lord Mayor of Coventry and several CAIF members, at the King Henry VIII School on Saturday 27 July 2024.
On the previous day, Richard Parker gave The TUDORS a great city tour, which ended at The Old Windmill Pub. Saturday morning, we were offered breakfast at the Cosy Club by CAIF and had the chance to talk with its members. Before flying back to Dresden on 29 July, we spent Sunday in Stratford-upon-Avon following the famous bard’s trail.
Once again, we would like to thank CAIF for its support as well as Nikolai Press and Monika Campbell for their incredibly generosity!
