What’s on at the local Universities.
There are various open courses and public events on at the local universities. Go to:

Professional sport
Football
Coventry city play in the second tier. Home matches take place in the CBS stadium. They also have a women’s and girl’s teams.
Coventry United are further down the league pyramid. They play at the Butts arena which also hosts community football as well as other sports. (Coventry United women’s team now play at nearby Rugby and are named Rugby Borough)
Rugby
Coventry Rugby also play at the Butts. They are in the second tier of the rugby pyramid. There is a rugby league club Coventry Bears. They play their games at Earlsdon Rugby Football Club (which is not in Earlsdon). Again there is also women’s rugby league side playing at the same venue.
Ice Hockey
Coventry blaze are the local team and they play at Sky Dome arena. They are in the top ice hockey division.
Cricket
The nearest professional cricket team is Warwickshire / Bears and they play most of their home games in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Theatres
Warwick Arts Centre has a concert hall, two theatres, art gallery and 3 cinema screens.
Belgrade is the city centre theatre in Coventry with a main stage and a studio stage.
There is a great deal of community theatre staged including events at Albany and at the Criterion theatres.
Places to visit include
Coventry cathedral. Apart from its religious and general community activity it hosts exhibitions and music and other events.
Coventry Blitz Museum lies on the corner of the old Cathedral Ruins
Herbert Art Gallery and Museum has a permanent collections of art and local history. It often puts on special exhibitions as well.
Coventry Transport Museum has over 14 galleries of bicycles, cars and ‘the fastest vehicle in the world’
Charterhouse is a fourteenth century building that sits in its own Heritage Park.
Coventry Music Museum is a volunteer led project to capture Coventry’s musical heritage.
Coventry Police Museum covers the policing heritage of the city. There are usually volunteers on hand to enhance the visit.
Coventry Watch Museum is again a volunteer led project showing the history of watchmaking in the city.
Lunt Roman Fort is a part reconstructed Roman fort (it is only open to the general public in school holidays).
Midland Air Museum has over 40 aircraft on display at Coventry airport.
St Mary’s is one of the finest Guildhalls in the country. It has recently been restored.
Weavers House shows how a family of weavers lived back in the 1500’s.
